Synopsis : Jail starring Neil Nitin Mukesh and directed by Madhur Bhandarkar is one of the most realistic movies made which talks about the things that happen in a jail cell.
Well my parents are iarntrecial (white dad, black mom) and they don't
really talk about race. Im not sure how most iarntrecial families are or if
thats the norm or not. But from my own personal experience, race was
something we dont talk about. My parents always taught us that race is a
human construct that was ment to divide people. So we viewed everyone as
equals. I do remember times where i would hear someone say something in
school about black people or about white people, not really understanding
why the two were so against eachother. It was always hard for me, and still
is to see how two people who are both human can be so hateful towards
eachother because of race. I grew up in a house where my mother and father
were very loving to eachother despite them both being different races.. so
its always hard to understand the outside world's perspective on why both
races seem to not be able to get along.I tend to stay clear of all of that
and surround myself with people who think like me and who dont view race as
an issue. My dad was very critical when it came to politicts and rowdy
neighbors.. but race related things were never discussed. I went through a
period where i was not sure where i belong and i was always reassured by
them that we are all human and equal and their will always be negative
people trying to destroy you and break you down but you have to be strong.
so i found like minded people, and most of my friends are from a variety of
different races. Im just lucky i had a great support system from home and
great friends because sometimes you just need your families reassurance, in
this crazy world, that everything is going to be okay.
